Bear with me as I try to explain this otherworldly creation :)This dress is made from historically accurate patterns. This will be made in your size and in your choice of 100% silk color!The dress in the pictures is not for sale, just used as a reference.This style of dress was popular throughout most of the  second half of the 18th century. It is called a robe a la polonaise, and consists of an overdress and underskirt. Undergarments (chemise, corset) are not included, but this does include panniers! The overdress is breathtaking. The bodice is close fitting and boned in 9 places with 1/4 inch steel boning to keep the flat, conical shape iconic to the period. The front is a comperes front, meaning the two front bodice pieces close with hook and eyes down the middle. The bodice is lined and interlined and very stiff. If you would like, for more authentication, I can make the front a stomacher front, with the front middle bodice piece coming completely off, and attached on either side of the gown with hook and eyes. For an extra fee, I can make two different stomachers, so you get two looks for the price of one!All the trim is gathered organza, available in black, white, and ivory. After auction end, I will send a form to you that illustrates how to take the measurements I need. Please be aware that the dress will only be as accurate as your measurements! Please note that I cannot start making this dress until I have the measurements! Wearing a corset underneath is recommended but not required, but before taking any measurements, please wear the undergarments you plan on wearing. (Bra, corset ect...) and then measure. Thanks! Truly, this is 100% unique and will get you noticed at any event. Be sure that the quality is second to none, and that this outfit will last you many years to come with proper care!
