Silk Gazar is somewhat gauze like, with a nice transparency, somewhat matte but not quite as it has a very subtle shine. It is a touch stiff, so it keeps its shape. I say it is off white because it is not a bright white. It looks very delicate and ethereal. The dress is made of two layers of gazar from top to bottom. The dress is very architectural. (Angel Sanchez is an architect turned wedding gown designer and his dresses are very "constructed" & original). The dress is strapless and has a "panel" construction witch makes for a perfect slimming and elegant silhouette. There are 3 different panels superposed over the body of the gown. These are not ruffles. They are cut to stay very close to the body. There is a long zipper in the back it, so the buttons are just for show. It has a very small oval train. It is fully lined and it has the usual great detailed work that is normal in a couture gown. The workmanship and detailing is simply superb.The dress can of course be worn with a petticoat in order to give it a "fuller" look. I myself was not sure if I was going to use one. *** the dress needs a touch of light pressing especially at the train which was folded, as you can see from the pictures.                       This dress is so different, delicate & elegant.                               You will not be dissapointed!FYI: I will also include the pedant I bought for this dress. This dress is NEW. I have the price tag as well. Nothing was done to the dress. No alterations or anything. It is a standard US size 10. (However, I would say it is between an 8 and 10 size). My wedding was posponed and meanwhile I gained weight, so I need a bigger size now. I payed $4,900 for it, as you will see on the tag.  (Here are some mesurements:bust is about 34" to 35" mesured on the inside. waist is about 32" mesured on the outside. lenght in the front is 54" mesured in the middle starting from top between the boobs. These are not totally exact mesures.
