Entirely hand made, from the best, extra soft, luxuriously rich, light weight SUPER 180's - 14 Micron Wool, what KITON Calls "BLANC BLU" , 14 Micron is truly a Super 190's. This fabric is finer than cashmere and it recovers without a wrinkle every day, even after prolonged wear. "Kiton was founded in 1968 in Naples, Italy by Ciro Paone. Kiton is considered one of the most exclusive and prestigious fashion houses in the world. The company makes about 20,000 suits per year that usually cost US$5,000 - $15,000 each. All Kiton suits are completely handmade. They can be ordered bespoke or purchased at a small number of exclusive clothiers including Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco, California, Louis Boston in Boston, and Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Neiman Marcus also carries Kiton products in most of their locations. Most suits normally take about 25 hours of labor, and at least 45 tailors contribute to every one. Kiton's most famous suit model is the "K-50", so named because it takes approximately 50 hours to produce, costing $30,000 - $50,000, and is made exclusively by Kiton's chief tailor who personally measures and fits the client. Kiton dress shirts are also handmade, as are Kiton's seven-fold silk neckties. A strong believer in tailoring by hand, Paone inaugurated a tailor's school in Kiton's factory in Naples" Kiton "philosophy" is based on the precepts of the antique Neapolitan tailoring school. The company is more a big artisan workroom than an industry, thanks to its 220 tailors who follow the garments one by one all along the production process. Located in Naples' surroundings, Kiton was established 30 years ago by Ciro Paone and Antonio Carola.Love and passion for men clothing combined with the wish of producing an artisan garment are the basic ideas of the company's philosophy. Because of the meticulous artisan working process, the annual production is limited only to a few thousand pieces that Kiton distributes among the most glamorous clothing boutiques of the world.
